Happy New Year y’all! Since the holidays are over and we’ve officially crossed the January mark, things have settled down quite a bit. January, for me, is about the 2 R’s: recharging and reorganizing. And I plan on having a book in my hand as much as possible during these next few (cold) months. Word has it we are getting snow here in Raleigh on Saturday and I’m keeping my fingers crossed!! From a witty cocktail book to nail-biting novels, below are my recommendations for a good winter read…

/ Truly, Madly, Guilty by: Liane Moriarity: A bunch of my friends have been reading her books for a while now, but this was the first one I’ve read, and I really liked it! So much that I have already started on another one of hers, Big Little Lies. They are making it into an HBO series so I’m trying to finish it before it premieres!

/ Cravings by: Chrissy Teigen: This one sells itself! Even though it’s almost been a year since it come out, I find something new every time I open it. She has TONS of amazing recipes, many of which I still need to try. I also love the bits of sarcasm throughout the book. You go, Chrissy!

/ The Couple Next Door by: Shari Lapena: I LOVED IT! I read in like 2 days. The twists are way unpredictable, that’s the best part. Thankfully my friend Sarah mentioned it and we read it for Book Club. I enjoy a good thriller, and this one did not disappoint. I’ve been telling everyone about it!

/ Tequila Mockingbird by: Tim Federle: You can tell by the name that this cocktail book thinks it’s funny. And is it ever!! I received this book as a birthday gift (Thanks Val!!). The tounge-in-cheek humor is hilarious (I won’t spoil it for you) so it’s great to have for parties. Also, a yummy cocktail is always a good idea!

/ The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by: Marie Kondo: For all of the organization lovers out there! The book describes the KonMari Method of de-cluttering. Her cleverness and positivity will make you want to get up off the couch and start reorganizing! No time like the present 🙂
